Future Places is a meeting of people with one question in mind: if digital media can do so much for global communication, knowledge and creativity, how can it contribute to local cultural development? It consist in four days of exhibitions and events addressing the potential and the impact of digital media on local cultures.
The Porto Digital project contribute to evolution and innovation in a society of information and knowledge trying hat society and try to be accessible to everyone. To achieve this objective the company agglomerates a set of interconnected initiatives, to be implemented over a time of 36 months, under the cluster of Porto Digital.
With a strong emphasis towards electronic and experimental music and its intertwining with all forms of time-based audiovisual media, CRÓNICA embraces the digital domain and its explorers, as the perfect context for the flowing of data and for processes that enable the maximization of a full intermedia experience.
The Basic 3D Modeling workshop at Future Places Festival in Porto (19-22 October, 2011) is intended for individuals with little or no experience using 3D modeling software. We will be using Blender, an open source software 3D content production suite compatible with all major operating systems.
